PLS GO READ THIS ROMANCE FANTASY IMMEDIATELY！This book contains my fave trope: the love interest sees her scars and asks who did this too you 🥵 loved the main characters and the world building was phenomenal！ Not to mention some impeccable spice 😍🌶 This is my first read from this author and she’s has become a new instant buy！！

Run don’t walk to go read this book！ This book has everything you could possibly want in a book！ Strong main character？ Yep with Estrella she stands up for herself and the character building is great。 Slow burn romance？ It has that too and the book was the perfect amount of plot with steamy scenes in between。 I loved the world and history of the fae that developed along the way and set up the second book perfectly。 I highly recommend this book and look forward to reading the sequel in the fall！

I absolutely loved this book。 The attraction between Caelum and Estrella was instant。 Caelum would do anything to protect Estrella and had said right from the start that he would stay with her always。 He was always dominant and protective， even when Estrella wanted to be independent and was warned against her relationship。 I love the world building and can't wait to read the next book， especially after that ending！ I absolutely loved this book。 The attraction between Caelum and Estrella was instant。 Caelum would do anything to protect Estrella and had said right from the start that he would stay with her always。 He was always dominant and protective， even when Estrella wanted to be independent and was warned against her relationship。 I love the world building and can't wait to read the next book， especially after that ending！ 。。。more

Sweet holiest of titfires。。。I am not going to lie， I struggle a lot of the time with fantasy/paranormal romance。 More often than naught， I find it cheesy or over the top。 Yet， I didn't hesitate to read this when I found out that one of my favorite authors was diving into this new world that was so vastly different than the other things I had read of hers。 I was correct for following her down the rabbit hole because this？ Yeah， this was hands down one of my favorite things that she has written。Th Sweet holiest of titfires。。。I am not going to lie， I struggle a lot of the time with fantasy/paranormal romance。 More often than naught， I find it cheesy or over the top。 Yet， I didn't hesitate to read this when I found out that one of my favorite authors was diving into this new world that was so vastly different than the other things I had read of hers。 I was correct for following her down the rabbit hole because this？ Yeah， this was hands down one of my favorite things that she has written。The world-building in this was top-notch。 Even though it was definitely not something that would be experienced in a contemporary romance it still felt like it was。 What kind of sorcery does this author have that she can do that？ From the first chapter until the very last， I was immersed in this world。 It was laced with darkness and mystery。 This was by no means an easy world to live in。 The undertones of the story hinted at what lay beneath the surface and yet， I still would not call this story dark。 The setting was dark but at the heart of the story， it was pure romance that was anything but dark。 Caelum and Estrella were fantastic characters。 They both had their own backstory that added a dimension to their connection。 Caelum is in a league of his own when it comes to the leading men that this author has written， and trust me when I say that is impressive because all of her men are delicious with a capital D。 His flirtiness and mystique were incredible。 I lived for those moments when he said the things that he did。 He was not bashful about his intentions with Estrella。 I didn't know whether to swoon or blush half the time。 His devotion and dedication to protecting Estrella were inspiring and his possessive/protective nature of wanting to burn the world for any harm （past， present， or future） was the stuff of dreams。 I couldn't have dreamt up a better book boyfriend if I tried。 Estrella， good lord， this character。 I admired her tenacity to make sure that she was free and in control of her own destiny。 She truly didn't stand a chance against the charm of Caelum。The author did an amazing job setting up the foundation of this new world。 By way of stories， and hints of things that foreshadowed things to come， this author has created a place that I want to explore even more。 I want to stay immersed here， that is how good the world-building is， and that says something because as I previously mentioned it is not an easy world。 This ends on a pretty brutal cliffhanger。 The twist at the end both surprised me and it didn't if that makes any sense。 It was the logical explanation。 Yet， I was still left with so many questions and curiosity on how the author intends to bring this full circle。 Seeing that the next book isn't until the end of August hurts。 That wait might kill me。 Even knowing that she has other books releasing between now and then doesn't lessen the agony of waiting which says something because I have been eagerly awaiting those books too。 At this point， I am just going to need this author to clone herself so that she can write everything and everything。This book is my all-time favorite of hers。 It is in the best of 2022 and likely to go in my all-time favorites vault when the series is done。 。。。more

Wow！ This is a must read， run don’t walk and carve out time to fully submerse and digest。 This is not my typical genre at all but I adore this author so I willingly tried it and I could not be more impressed - the details of the world created， the back history interwoven in to the plot line， the characters so gloriously wonderfully broken but strong and powerful within。 Just beautiful！ I was emotionally exhausted， haunted and totally invested in these characters and their story。 I cannot wait fo Wow！ This is a must read， run don’t walk and carve out time to fully submerse and digest。 This is not my typical genre at all but I adore this author so I willingly tried it and I could not be more impressed - the details of the world created， the back history interwoven in to the plot line， the characters so gloriously wonderfully broken but strong and powerful within。 Just beautiful！ I was emotionally exhausted， haunted and totally invested in these characters and their story。 I cannot wait for the remainder of the story to unfold。 I dont want to give away spoilers but the similarities to our stories of mythology are there and woven so well so you feel as if you know， understand and have compassion for the world and its characters。 Outstanding book， highly recommend and if you are not typically a fan of fantasy give it a try anyway， you will not be disappointed， promise！ 。。。more

I knew it！ I just knew it！ Gah this had me unable to put it down。 Estrella is so head strong and Caelum…。whoa boy that possessiveness in him had me melting。 There were a few minor grammatical errors and I believe the High Priestess’s name changed from Bernice to Beatrice unless I read it wrong。 Other than that， this book was amazing and I am dying for the second one。

Fantastic book full of adventure and love。 I ADORE Caelum and his flirtatious charm。 Estrella is a strong and spirited heroine that survives and thrives through it all。 I definitely recommend this book for fans of romance and fantasy。 This book does end on a cliffhanger and I am anxiously awaiting book 2！！！！！

Holy Moly！！！ Those aren’t the exact words that came out of my mouth at the end of the book， but I don’t want to get banned from the Zon。 This was an incredible start to a new fantasy series by Harper L Woods。 I love LOVE all things Fae and this book took Fae and made them even better。 It’s twisty and a little dark， and oh so steamy。 The perfect recipe for PNR greatness。 Well done Ms Woods！ August can not get here soon enough！

**I was provided with an ARC for an honest review。**If you adore Rhysand， then read this book。If you fancy the Bargainer series， then read this book。 If you revel in Zodiac Academy， then you already bought this book。。。。 good girl꧁The Characters꧂Meet Estrella。 She's conscientious。 She's protective。 And she's angry at how life has constantly given her the short end same girl "I was so f*cking tired of being a victim。 Of being treated like I was less than the men around me， because they had **I was provided with an ARC for an honest review。**If you adore Rhysand， then read this book。If you fancy the Bargainer series， then read this book。 If you revel in Zodiac Academy， then you already bought this book。。。。 good girl꧁The Characters꧂Meet Estrella。 She's conscientious。 She's protective。 And she's angry at how life has constantly given her the short end same girl "I was so f*cking tired of being a victim。 Of being treated like I was less than the men around me， because they had a piece of meat swinging between their legs。" Her martyrism for her family endeared me to her but also made me cough phrases like "Mary Sue" at the beginning。。。。。Then the author quickly cranked that sh*t up to 100。 This is the first book of 2022 that I've added to my "Favorites" shelf and I am one picky b*tch so that should say something。。。 Estrella's development into this violent and defiant POV was constantly entertaining， full of raw emotions。 She just so angry and vulnerable about her reality。 Everyone kept fighting her。 So she started fighting back muhaha "You're a vicious one， aren't you？" he asked， running his tongue over the top of his perfect bottom teeth。"Only when it comes to pushy men who seem to think they have the right to touch me，" I snapped， leaning further into the knife against his throat。" Enter our potential love interest， Caelum。The world-building， the unique plot， and antihero love interest just all hooked me right away。 He is a total morally grey character that embraces his monster tendencies in the most wickedly delicious ways。 I would burn the world to the ground and lay it at your feet if you so much as asked it of me" I have reread every scene with him。 From the sassy banter。。。 "I wish I was a hydra，" I teased。"Then I could just swallow you whole and not have to endure your endless hovering anymore。""My star， you can swallow me whole anytime you --" I smacked him in the stomach To the sexy sexy fun times "These lips were made to moan my name。" This book is exactly what I'm looking for when I want a hot alpha paired up with the equally violent sassy heroine。 ꧁The Writing Style꧂ Went for short and shocking which worked really well with Estrella POV of everything being new and dangerous that I was immediately thrown into this world "Sudden awareness burst through my contentment， the impression of someone banging on the other side of a doorway， though there was none to be found。" I love how this first book really set up the heroine to first be introduced to the fae world， work on the immediate issue THEN build-up to the MAJOR plot that the series will be focused on。That’s just some good g*ddamn writing。 The heroine is my kind of sassy and capable that I can't wait to get more of。 Each obstacle pushed her， forced her to confront her weaknesses then she REFUSED to let that weakness stop herOverall， I simply loved this book。 And， sadly， I haven't said that a lot lately。 For the first of the series， it set up the world beautifully that I cannot WAIT to see where it’s going， and how the author might add some more twists and turns。 The love interest was flawed， driven， and I wanted to slap then kiss him at the same time。 "If you can hit me， you can hit anyone，" he said， stabbing toward me with a quick jab。 I bent backward to avoid it striking me in the chest。 "And I will very much enjoy watching you cut down enemies at my side one day。" Looking ahead， I have some definite expectations for the sequel。 I especially hope the author carefully works to differentiate the cultures and buildup of each court so that they aren’t all basically the same with just a different color scheme *cough pathetic don't do it* While the beginning of this book had some basic YA vibes with the setup， it quickly developed into engaging NA with more sexy， more intriguing， more b*tching characters that I can't wait to see how it develops in book two。 For real tho， anyone who reads this book pleaseee message me so I have someone to rave about it with！！ 。。。more
